"The Ultimate Metallica by Ross Halfin

The Ultimate Metallica - Photographs by Ross Halfin debuts in Australia on November 10th 2010 at Blender Gallery in Sydney.
This exhibition has been aptly timed with the SOLD OUT Metallica - World Magnetic Tour 2010.
Legendary music photographer Ross Halfin has documented Metallica for nearly 25 years, from their beginnings as a furious garage band to their current status as the heaviest and most popular metal band in the world.
This exhibition 'The Ultimate Metallica' presents the best of Halfin's amazing images, taken over the years with access granted exclusively to him as the band's main lens man. His candid photographs-taken on stage, backstage, on and off tour-perfectly record the band's history, from a unique perspective.
In conjunction with this exhibition, Blender Gallery is pleased to be able to launch the "The Ultimate Metallica - Photographs by Ross Halfin" - a new photographic book that spans two-plus decades.
Ross has toured with, partied with, and spent cumulatively and literally years with the band documenting them over time. He's their friend, and the candor and access shows in his photographs.
The book was compiled with Metallica's blessing, as drummer Lars Ulrich wrote the foreword, with guitarist Kirk Hammett authoring the after word.
"He just gets right the fuck in there. . . . Every drop of sweat, every molecule of saliva, every out-of-place nose hair, it all gets captured cuz he's just fucking there."- Lars Ulrich
Ross Halfin will be at Blender Gallery for the official launch night of the book and exhibition on Friday November 12th 2010.
Blender Gallery will also host an exclusive book signing on Saturday November 13th from 11.30am - 1:30pm.
Ross Halfin continues to photograph the worlds biggest rock artists, including Metallica.
Since the mid 70's, he has been the photographer of choice for all major rock artists and his archive is one of the most extensive in the world. His work has appeared in thousands of publications and on record covers all over the world.
All photographs in this exhibition are for sale and are Limited Edition Prints."

Dessutom har Ross Halfin lite roliga dagboksanteckningar på sin hemsida.
